$1.00? Little America Raises Its Famous Ice Cream Cone Price

To be fair, that Little America ice cream cone is still cheaper than it would be anywhere else. But inflation happens. 

A friend of mine is old enough to remember when Wyoming's Little American hotel had ice cream cones for 25 cents.

When I first moved to Wyoming some years ago, I remember seeing a billboard advertising their comes for 50 cents.

My joke at the time was that the cones were 50 cents, but if you wanted ice cream in it, that would be an extra $10.00.

For several years, their billboards on Wyoming highways read "Ice cream cones 75 cents."

But last week, that all changed.

Their billboards have been repainted and now read, "Ice Cream Cones $1.00.

What has the world come to?

Below is their Facebook post from one year ago. Note the price. Thought you're probably not going to get that much ice cream for the price.

Gas prices have come down.

Egg prices have come down

But the price of an ice cream cone and Little America has gone up?

What is happening with this insane world?

Let's give Little America this much credit: if we try to get the same cone anywhere else, it's going to cost a heck of a lot more.

A kid's ice cream cone at a Dairy Queen is at least $2.00 and can be more in other parts of the country. So it's still worth the stop at Little America.

Who said that "Global Warming" was all bad?

Good things can come from it.

According to a claim made in the journal Nature Climate Change, people consume more sugary drinks and ice cream on warmer days. Well DUH!

They then claim that, because the planet is warming at an alarming rate, people are consuming more cold sugar treats, such as ice cream, than ever before.

So if you are fat and getting fatter, it's not your fault. It's "climate change."

“Your environment definitely shapes what you eat and how you eat, and climate change is part of it—it might have an adverse influence on your health,” study co-author Duo Chan of the University of Southampton told AFP.

So from now on, when you see me eating ice cream and you try to give me grief about cheating on my diet, I'm just going to blame "global warming."

From now on, anything that is bad in your life, you can just go ahead and blame it on "climate change."

It has nothing to do with personal responsibility.

As for eating more ice cream, I grew up on a hot, tropical island.

I did not sit around eating ice cream and drinking soda all day to keep cool.

Also, your ice cream flavors are not in danger.
