Do you need to go somewhere in Wyoming, Sunday - Monday?

Okay - but roads are sketchy almost everywhere.

That Canadian winter blast moved into the state last Friday, beginning with snow that melted on the highway and then froze.

That black ice was covered by a layer of snow that was drifted around by Wyoming winds.

Some more light snow on Saturday and freezing single-digit temperatures during the day became negative temperatures overnight.

There was not a lot of snow. It was more about how the snow and ice layered as the front moved in.

Below is the latest WYDOT highway map as of early Sunday morning.

You can see the latest WYDOT road conditions map at this link.

As you look at the map keep in mind that green is good, yellow is worrisome. Orange is bad. Red is closed.

That hard freeze compacted everything despite the best efforts of WYDOT to scrape it down and drop some dirt for traction.

Those Wyoming winds will be much lighter this Sunday, into Monday.

But those cold temperatures are just going to get colder.

Everything is slick. REALLY SLICK.

The best advice at this point; just because you can see the road does not mean you should trust the road.

It is icy out there.

That ice is not going anywhere even when the sun comes out.

It is just going to be too cold.

Conditions should improve as we get later into next week.

But another Arctic blast is on the way next weekend.
