The pilot is fine.

According to WYDOT there was engine trouble and the pilot needed a place to set down.

This was a good landing.

The sheriff's department is slowing traffic down because the plane is just over a hill on the side of the road and may not be visible.

The pilot was taken into town where he can spend the night as his problems are worked out.

The plane will be left where it is overnight, at the very least.

Emergency plane landing just occurred on WY789 near mm 3. No road blockage, but traffic is being directed to slow down through the area. Give our crews room to work. (WYDOT).

There is concern about where the plane is.

High winds are forecasted for the area as we move into Thursday and Friday.

If it is not moved the plane will have to be secured to the ground during the wind storm.

WYDOT, the Highway Patrol, and the pilot are all aware of the coming winds and hope to have the plane out by early Thursday.

The plane is registered to,

BARR AIR PATROL LLC
MESQUITE , TX, US

It is a 1981 Turbo Stationair made by Cessna.

It's an older version of the airplane in the video below.

Pilots of planes like this are taught to always be looking for a plane to put down if something goes wrong.

This pilot made all the right moves.

Local Pilots Give Wyoming Kids A Free Flight

Does your kid want to be a pilot?

There is no way of knowing unless they get a chance to get in an airplane and get up there.

Thanks to a Wyoming chapter of EAA, (Experimental Aircraft Association), kids in Wheatland Wyoming got that chance this past weekend.

Local pilots offered free rides to all kids, breakfast included.

The hope is that maybe some of these kids will get that urge to want to fly and pursue a career as a pilot.

America needs more pilots.
