See Inside Wyoming’s Newest Mormon Temple
Several Mormon Temples have been and are being constructed in Wyoming.
A new one is under construction in Sheridan.
It will look exactly like what was built, and recently opened, in Casper, Wyoming.
If you've driven by this impressive building, you've probably wondered what it looks like inside.
The Mormor Church recently released a video tour, which you can watch below.
The video does not explain what each room is for.
The baptism room is easy to figure out, as well as one room for what might be considered regular church services.
There are paintings on the walls that are large and beautiful, showing different moments in Mormon history.
You were allowed to go in and see for yourself and ask questions.
Public tours begin this week for the Casper, Wyoming Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A public open house will take place from Thursday, August 29, through Saturday, September 14, 2024, excluding Sundays.
But since we are now in 2025, you'll have to ask. It's worth a try if you're curious.
Scheduled temple appointments are encouraged and appreciated, but patrons without appointments are welcome. For those without appointments, wait times might be longer. (Temple Website).
There has been a bit of controversy about the location of a similar temple building in Sheridan, Wyoming.
Primarily due to its height and lighting plans, as well as concerns about the temple's impact on the surrounding neighborhood and viewshed.
Residents and community groups, like "Preserve Our Cody Neighborhoods," have objected to the temple's planned 101-foot height, which exceeds the city's zoning regulations for residential areas.
There were also concerns about the temple's nighttime lighting, including the possibility of it being lit 24 hours a day.
A judge has recently ruled in favor of the Church.
