Just a few days of warm weather in Wyoming and homeowners can SMELL THAT DOG POOP in their yard.

YES it is that time of year again.

During the summer dog owners can regularly be seen scooping up their dogs poo from their yards.

But in winter, why bother.

Hot, steamy turds will just melt through the snow and make it way to the hybernating grass, far below.

Eventually we hit a warm spell and all that snow melts.

Dog owners hope that it will stay cold enough outside to keep that junk from smelling.

But a few days in warm sunlight and everybody in the neighborhood can smell it.

Even the dog comes in from outside, asking if someone is going to bother to clean up his backyard toilet area.

Worse, is when we get a little rain, and that old poo that was being warmed by the sun gets wet.

Eventually, dog owners give in and we will see them outside picking up a winter's worth of --- well, you know. I don't need to dive deep into details.

When we finally get to Wyoming's real spring things will smell great.

We'll get a gentle breeze that will waft the smell of fresh flowers across our beautiful state.

But we have a while until then.

So, dog owners, do yourself and those of us a favor. Go out as soon as you can and clean that stuff up before the sun begins to warm it like a potato in the microwave.

A big, smelly potato.

BY THE WAY - There is a company in Casper Wyoming, and a few other towns, that cleans up all that poop for you.
