BE CAREFUL, there are lots of scammers out there.

They have a host of different ploys.

Some are really clever.

Some, like what happened to me this week, are downright STUPID!

I received a text message that you can read below.

How fast can you spot what is wrong?

Let's start with the fact that I live in Wyoming.

Wyoming doesn't have any toll roads.

Therefore, we don't have an EZ pass system.

For those who don't know, an EZ pass is a sticker placed on the top left of the driver's side of the car. The driver does not need to slow down to pay a toll. The sticker is read, and it charges the driver each time they pass through.

Wyoming has no such system.

My car has never left Wyoming. Although I travel out of state often, I've never taken my own car to do it.

The only place that I've been that has an EZ pass is when I visited my sister in Florida. We took her vehicle, which has an EZ pass that belongs to her, not me.

WATCH FOR TAX SCAMS!

At the beginning of this year, I received a few text messages saying that I owed the IRS a HEAP of money in back taxes.

That is not even close to being true.

I've also received texts from the post office about a package they were holding for me

The IRS and the Post Office never call or text people.

If you get a text like that just block and delete it.

It's a scam.
