A University of Wyoming Department of Music professor and a UW graduate will be the featured “Piano Duet” musicians in the Faculty Recital Series on Sunday, November 7.

UW Professor Theresa Bogard and alumnus Dean Zhang will perform a free public concert at 3 p.m. in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts recital hall. The performance also will live-streamed.

The program features works by Johannes Brahms, György Kurtág, Leo Smit, and Igor Stravinsky.

Bogard, head of the Department of Music’s keyboard area, is an active performer combining varied interests in historical performance practice, contemporary music, chamber music, and the music of women composers.

Zhang has been a featured soloist with the Canton Symphony, National Repertory Orchestra, New World Symphony, Southwest Florida Symphony, and Tucson Symphony, and he is the laureate of numerous competitions.

 

Zhang also performs nationwide with clarinetist Ben Chen as the Edgewater Duo, which will perform at UW at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6.
