There is some opposition to a proposed solar farm for the western side of Natrona County Wyoming.

Those opposed to it have started their own Facebook page called Preserve Natrona which you can find at this link.

One of their concerns is water contamination.

This is a map of the proposed location of the Solar farm. This site is east of Natrona Road (county road 209) and south of 20/26.

This piece of land has historically been ranch land and the home of many generations of cattle. It also transverses two significant water draws that will be in danger of contamination.

There are many residents in the area all of which have made a conscious choice to live a life away from town, away from industry, away from this type of intrusion.

Many rely on well water to survive for their animals as well as their families are now threatened by this project.

This project also will disrupt every aspect of life for the people, their livestock, and the wildlife as well as reduce the value of all the property in the area.

Their Facebook page is where folks can go to find out more about who opposes the project and why.

But also to see when and where public events will happen.

I will be at the Westside Walmart tomorrow 10-23-24. I will be there starting at 11:00 am to collect signatures for the petition that I have started to Stop the Solar Panel Facility. If you have any questions I will be happy to answer based on what I know and have learned about this project. (Michelle Christine).

A Little Wyoming School House Preserved In Time

The little hamlet of Slater Wyoming has preserved on of their last two remaining buildings with all the love they feel for it.

There was once a tiny town on this spot.

Most everything is gone except the schoolhouse and the community building.

I stopped by one Saturday morning and the locals were more than happy to let us in to have a look.
