Wyoming Man Has Already Quit New Year’s Resolutions
January 1st, 2025, Carl Miller of Wheatland Wyoming rolled out of bed, went to the fridge, and had chocolate cake for breakfast with a beer chaser.
Rather than going to the gym like her promised he chose to fall asleep in front of the TV.
Carl was well on his way to breaking every New Year resolution he had made.
I figured, why not just get it over with, said Carl.
He was going to clean his house and his yard.
His neighbors complain about the looks and smell of them both.
But cleaning like that is meant for spring.
That's why they call it spring cleaning, said Carl.
But we all know that spring will come and I'll put it off due to nice weather. So why not just admit I'm not going to do it.
Carl felt the pressure of all the promises he had made himself just before the New Year lifted off of his shoulders.
I wanted to lose 30 pounds, said Carl. Not having to keep up with these resolutions makes me feel like I've lost 100. That's an easy way to lose weight, I tell you what.
Late afternoon on New Year's Day Carl sat on his sofa, eating chocolate cake for lunch with a beer chaser, and laughed at his neighbors who were out going for a walk.
The only difference between me and them is that I chose to give up on day one. They will probably last two weeks. But then they will never admit to themselves that they quit.
Carl only sees one difference between him and everyone else.
I'm honest with myself.
