If you look up the word "discovery" online, you should see pictures of Wyoming. That's what our state has been about forever and there's a group that seems to appreciate that. They specialize in backcountry discovery routes and have shared a video telling their story about an epic journey across Wyoming.

I have to admit that the concept of backcountry discovery routes is new to me, but obviously not to others. The official website seems to be a concerted effort from Wyoming Outdoor Recreation and BMW among others. Here's their mission statement from that site:

BDR is a 501c(3) non-profit organization. We are here to help you plan adventure motorcycling trips. This website provides you with free GPS tracks, information, and planning tools for each Backcountry Discovery Route. Plan your multi-day off-road motorcycle adventure with our free tracks, interactive maps, photos, video content as well as hotel, food & gas information. Be sure to check out the discovery points, packing lists and FAQ’s for any routes you are considering. Have fun, be safe and enjoy exploring on two wheels.

Their journey through Wyoming looks like it was spectacular.

It seems to me that there must be a feature-length movie documenting their adventure across Wyoming on the way with this trailer being the promotion of that. If that's the case, consider me first in line to see the full thing.

Ride BDR seems like it's accessible to everyone who rides on two wheels. Check out their site for resources and more details about what their backcountry route discovery is all about.
