Brutal Forecast Will Bring Travel Delays Before Christmas
Did you have a ticket to visit family for Christmas?
Traveling during the holidays is always hard just because of the number of people trying to get home.
Now, let's toss in a major winter storm that will paralyze many important hubs around the nation.
Freezing rain, heavy snow, brutal sub-zero temperatures.
According to Don Day of Day Weather, this will be the biggest arctic cold and snow event that the West, Midwest, East coast, and Northeast have seen in a while.
Yeah, it's going to cover that much territory.
Expect the worst of it on Thursday into Friday.
If you have travel plans before that, you should be able to get out in front of this.
But let's not just look at air travel.
If it's going to be that bad in the air, then expect the highways across the nation to be just as bad.
Many travelers will get stuck trying to make it home.
Let me say that again - go now or risk getting stuck, no matter how you are planning to travel.
That reminds me of a great movie I once saw.
Don Day actually has been using words like BRUTAL, and Headline Maker. He's not prone to exaggerate. Don tends to err on the conservative side. So if he's excited, it's a good idea to pay attention and check your travel plans.
