There are many places where a person can dig for dinosaurs in the state of Wyoming. You just have to know where to look and what you are looking for.

Dino Doug (Doug Crawford) is a popular paleontology content creator and social media personality known as "the cowboy who kisses dinosaurs." - Okay, that's kinda weird. But anyway, here he is near Newcastle, Wyoming, digging in an old riverbed. You can watch his video below.

To help you find dinosaurs and dig for them, there are several places in Wyoming that have guided digging tours.

Dig Wyoming Dinosaurs is an independent dinosaur fossil adventure company offering professionally guided tours with digs for dinosaur fossils. That is where Dino Doug went to dig.

The most common dino to find in Wyoming is the triceratops. But there are many other species to discover. Not all are big. Many dinos were as small as chickens. But if you're more interested in the big ones, they have them. Yes, you can keep what you find.

Watch Doug's video below.

You can also dig for real dinosaur fossils and prehistoric remains through guided public programs at the Wyoming Dinosaur Center in Thermopolis. It's an all-day, hands-on experience. Well worth it.

There is another place that offers much better results, but it's not dinosaurs. Fossil lakebed at commercial pay-to-dig quarries near Kemmerer, Wyoming. They have a fossil safari where you can go into the old dry lake bed and, with some help, find what was living in that massive lake, millions of years ago, before it dried up.
