Every so often we hear someone say, "I need to get back in shape." Back in shape? Please- they were never in shape.

Still, for those who want to give it a go there are a lot of ways to do it. Just don't try to get in shape in Wyoming. It's not healthy.

Running is dangerous enough. There's traffic, falling off a trail on a mountain. Joggers are always twisting ankles and blowing out knees or pulling something. Recently a jogger in The Grand Tetons was chased by a bear. Then there was that poor jogger that was attacked by a cougar.

Believe it or not slowing it down doesn't help much. Hikers are always getting into trouble. Sometimes I wonder if walking is more dangerous than jogging. Then there were those hunters who found that they were being tracked by wolves. Let's not forget rattle snakes and lord know what else.

Cross country skiing sound interesting to you? Congratulations, you just might die in an avalanche.

So, you go outside in Wyoming thinking you're going to get some exercise only to get trampled by a herd of buffalo, or something. That doesn't sound healthy to me.

Why not just get a gym membership then?  Yeah, I thought about that. But gyms have cougars too. It's even worse for the women. They get stalked in the gym all the time.

Let's face it, you'll live longer sitting in front of the television all day, where it's safe. Just watch videos of other people working out and be glad you're smart enough to know that it's healthier to not take chances.

Snow Crushes Wheatland Wyoming Airplane Hangers

This row of hangars goes back many years. Some history was lost under a crush of snow.

March 21st, 2021. A record-breaking snowstorm had shut down most of Wyoming and was not yet done. Below is a gallery of photos as cleanup continues.

One of the small airports in Platte County, Wyoming is Phifer Airfield on Antelope Gap Road, east of Wheatland. Platte County has the Wheatland airport, along with one in Torrington and Guernsey. They were all shut down in the storm.
