Horny Mike and Ryan Evans Visit Wheatland Car Show
Never judge a town by what you see when you drive by it on the highway.
We usually think of Wheatland, Wyoming as that town we pass through on Interstate 25.
But if you pull in you'll find a cute little downtown and, sometimes, there's a lot going on.
On Saturday, July 13th, 2024, Wheatland closed its little downtown area for a car and craft show that was a delightful stroll around shops, cars, and homemade goodies.
The show brought out some of the best classic cars of the region along with a couple of national celebrities.
Horny Mike and Ryan Evans from the tv show Counting Cars were on hand, chatting with folks and posing for pictures.
The cars ranged from old to new.
Old cable and pully technology to the latest computer-driven.
Slow-moving trucks with lots of patina to the latest and most expensive sports cars that were so expensive you probably can't afford to ask how much.
As always in car shows like this there were lots of "Look but don't touch" signs, many written in the funniest ways possible.
The young lady below was living her best life as she drove up and down the middle of Wheatland's downtown main street.
At times she had her hands above her head and her right foot on the accelerator.
There would be no other time that she would be allowed to take her car out on an actual road.
This was her moment.
It's not just the truck.
It's the color of the truck.
These old things make a wonderful noise when they start.
Can't mistake that sound when they drive down the street.
Who's puppy?
This little guy was sweet but did not like it when "mommy" got too far from the carriage.
Can't let those delicate paws touch that hot pavement.
Yeah, it was really hot that afternoon.
Might as well dress for the occasion.
Are you going to a classic car show?
Why not dress for the part?
This young lady and her dog were getting as much attention as the cars were.
Birth of the station wagon.
Two doors for the people.
One in the back.
Heavy to drive but it was perfect for hauling what was needed in Suburbia.
The ladies below had the right idea by bringing those umbrellas.
They made their way up and down the street, stopping to pose for pictures anytime anyone asked.
It's never just about the cars at events like these.
It's also about the characters.
AH yes, the pink lady of Wyoming.
Do any of the regular readers of our website remember this car?
There is a young lady who owns it who perfectly fits the era.
That color, by the way, is called Dusk Rose.
