Little by little the once forgotten town of Chugwater Wyoming is making some notable improvements.

What do you think of the new wall art on the side of the Chugwater Soda Fountain?

Reminds us of a time when Coca-Cola and other businesses would decorate walls with their company logo like billboards.

Just a few years ago, only two businesses were open downtown: the Soda Fountain and The Stampede Restaurant.

The Soda Fountain looked like it was on its last leg.

However, the new owner, Jill Winger, and her husband gave the old place a facelift and some much-needed improvements.

Mission Do-Something-with-the-Big-Blank-Wall: Accomplished.  Thanks, James Overstreet for helping us to bring this vision to life! (Jill Winger).

Then the Tri-County Mercantile opened across the street.

If you're driving past Chugwater, Wyoming on Interstate 25 be sure to pull in and have a look.

Grab some lunch at the old Chugwater Soda Fountain.

Explore the Tri-County Mercantile across the street.

Come visit for dinner and stay a while when the Stampede has live music nights.

'A horse walked into a bar,' the old joke goes.

In this case, a horse was led into the Chugwater Soda Fountain in Chugwater, Wyoming to have a malt.

Look, it was hot out. The horse needed something cool in its belly. You know how it goes.

If you're thinking that the horse might have made a mess, I'm sure Jill Winger, the owner of the Chugwater Soda Fountain would tell you that some of her human customers make even bigger messes.

It all started outside.

Kids take a moment to pet a groom a passing horse.

It's Wyoming, after all. Nothing unusual about that. Just another day in one of Wyoming's many small cattle towns.

But it's hot out and, by golly, everybody needs some ice cream to cool down.

When I say everybody I mean man and beast.

They all begin to look longingly through the window of Wyoming's oldest-running soda fountain, located in the town of Chugwater.

"WHO WANTS ICE CREAM!"

Even the horse perks up on that call.

"EVERYBODY INSIDE FOR ICE CREAM!"

Does anyone see a sign on the door that says "No horses allowed?" I've eaten at the Chugwater Soda Fountain many times. I do not see any such signs.

Inside everybody goes. BOY that air conditioning feels GOOD!

For the record, this is not a common occurrence.

On the other hand, this is not unheard of.

There are old photos of horses being brought into bars. I know for a fact that still happens.

So let's down some cool ice cream and call this a good day.

I'm sure if we went into an ice cream shop in Los Angeles we would see even stranger things.

Chugwater's Hysterical Pie Eating Contest.

One of Wyoming's smallest towns added a new event. A PIE EATING CONTEST.

The rules are simple:

Not hands allowed.

Eat as much as you can before time is up.

The results are hysterical.
