WATCH: Paraglider Orbits Famous Wyoming Landmark
If you've traveled Interstate 25 near Chugwater, Wyoming you've seen that one section of the plateau, on the north end, that sticks out all on its own.
They call it Chimney Rock.
It's closer to the town of Slater, which is up on the plateau.
It's beautiful and it leaves a person wondering if it was created by wind, water, or both.
Quite by accident, I came across a video of a paraglider who sailed his way across from the main plateau to Chimney Rock, about two years ago.
I had never heard of anyone doing this.
Have you?
Here is the video he recorded. IT IS EPIC!

Oh man this was such a great flight. T
here nothing quite like being on a road trip, and seeing something epic, being like "I wanna fly that", and then camping out and making it happen!
This was such a sweet flight! New area, epic terrain, spontaneous destination flight, smooth air.... Awesome!!
Only thing I could have wished for was a couple wingmen to share the flight with!
Maybe next time!! I found a plateau for which I need to find wingmen risky enough to try and fly camp it with me.
Tight LZ but totally doable.... risky but doable.... any takers?
Such a great flight! I can't wait to fly the area again!
Good times, good sights, good air!
Come Fly With Me!
Love the way he footsurfs the roads and flies low over the railroad tracks, one foot dragging a rail.
The first part of the video is fast with music to match.
Then he lets you see him orbiting the rock, nice and slow, in real-time.
Below is Chimney Rock as seen from the interstate.
