Sublette County Sherriff's Deputies on Tuesday were able to rescue a deer stranded in a pond near Daniel.

According to a post on the Sublette County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, dispatch got a call around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday about a deer that had fallen through the ice on a local pond.

When the deputies arrived, they found the ice on the pond was too thin to support them. So instead of venturing onto the ice, the deputies were able to lasso the deer and pull it to shore.

The deputies then brought the animal onto the landowner's blacktop driveway to warm up. They checked back a few hours later and found the deer had left the area safely.
