It only lasted about 2 minutes. Makeshift weapons were used, including a pole with an American flag at the top.

It was supposed to be a peaceful, pro-police "Back the Blue" rally in Fort Collins, Colorado on Saturday.

In the video you will see the two sides meet and tensions rising quickly. At some point, somebody threw the first punch and the fight quickly rolled down into the ditch. It's hard to see who's winning.

As you can imagine there was a lot of punching, cussing, blood, and dust.

Besides the American flag pole, other objects were used but it is hard to make out what they are. Probably anything that was handy.

At some point, the police arrived and some are seen fleeing the scene. Others are arrested. Charges are sure to be filed and a lot of who is charged with what will depend on what is seen in this video.

"We respect everyone's right to peacefully assemble," said Fort Collins Police Services Chief Jeff Swoboda.

Many local Colorado TV stations aired this video and enhanced it to try to make out what was going on. I'm sure local prosecutors are doing the same.
