Wheatland, Wyoming Mourns The Loss Of Taco Johns
Just how the heck is a Wyoming community supposed to exist without TACO JOHNS?
That's the problem that Wheatland Wyoming is now facing.
There could be panic in the streets.
The photo below shows what was posted on Facebook regarding the Wheatland Taco Johns.
It shows the restaurant boarded up and abandoned.
There can be several reasons why this might happen.
Wheatland in the late 70s to early 90s was booming from the power plant.
Now it is as big as Dubois, WY.
From one stop light, too two traffic lights, down to stop signs.
No rafting the Irrigation ditch under Pamida and through the park.
No cruzing the strip and parking in front of Taco John's.
No more finding pallets for the Johnsons's lake bonfires.
The snow days closing off Snob Hill to sled as far as you could are over.
The great times are past us.
This Taco John's is the spot where the original super potato came from.
And was then put on every menu Taco John's owned!!
WOW sounds like this person was really bumbed to see this little restaurant close.
Small towns like Wheatland really feel it when even one business closes.
There are many reasons a place like this might close.
One Taco John's in Casper, Wyoming closed, but that was due to who owned the land and what they wanted to do with it. The store was performing just fine.
You can tell by local reactions that this one closing will have an effect on the town.
There were many other comments on old memories folks had of that TJs location.
Look at it this way, that is still a good building and someone could come along and reopen this place- if not as a Taco Johns, then maybe something else.
