This week the east coast of the United States was hit by a major winter storm that brought in several feet of snow in just a couple of hours.

Local news stations sent their weather forecasters out to deliver their reports from the streets, while they shivered in the freezing temperatures and were buried in snow.

You'll see the same thing when a hurricane slams a coastal town. Weather forecasters are out in it, miserable, and risking their lives.

Here in Wyoming, we have Don Day. ----  Don is SMARTER!

This week I had Don on Wyoming's morning radio talk show chatting about below-zero temperatures.

Don was inside, cozy and warm.

When we have a blizzard in our state, blowing snow sideways in whiteout conditions, where is Don?

HE's INSIDE!

Don knows that we don't need him standing out in that crap to show us what it looks like.

We have windows.

We can see for ourselves.

A few years ago we had such a bad winter storm that Don did not even show up at his office to report on what was happening.

He reported on it from home.

Only a dumbass would go out in that crap, and Don Day knew it.

From his cozy, comfortable, and safe abode, he kept Wyoming informed.

He knew that if he was going to tell us that it was not safe to go outside we should not be wondering why he was out there.

Leading by example is Don's motto.

So the next time you see a weatherman standing out in Earth's worst weather, remember, Wyoming's weatherman is smarter.

Snow Crushes Wheatland, Wyoming Airplane Hangars

This row of hangars goes back many years. Some history was lost under a crush of snow.

March 21st, 2021. A record-breaking snowstorm had shut down most of Wyoming and was not yet done. Below is a gallery of photos as cleanup continues.

One of the small airports in Platte County, Wyoming is Phifer Airfield on Antelope Gap Road, east of Wheatland. Platte County has the Wheatland airport, along with one in Torrington and Guernsey. They were all shut down in the storm.
