Wyoming Needs A Snow Auto Racing Tournament
Well, the race track is full of snow, so we can have an auto race, right?
ARE YOU KIDDING?
The more extreme the conditions the more fun.
But, somebody might wipe out and wreck!
Do you have a point? Because I don't get the point.
Maybe watching people trying not to wreck on a track filled with snow and ice is the point.
Racing in only good weather gets BORING!
FIRST, let's get out in nature and race on a highway.
Okay, not bad at all.
But what about opening that race track and letting fans sit in the stands and watch?
It it's enough fun to watch people will put up with the cold.
TRUST ME, they will.
Just sell hot cocoa, coffee, and warn things to eat.
What's interesting about this next video is how low these cars are.
I expected something more jack-up and bigger tires.
I'm sure they at least have snow tires.
Turning corners in conditions as you see here is a different kind of driving.
The driver has to think about how they are going to slide.
Then the tire ruts start to build up in the track.
Trying to keep straight, on the straight stretch, is not an easy thing.
Acceleration and braking would both be big problems.
The driver can't just STOP the gas or STOMP the break.
The effects would be nothing but slipping for both.
Okay, let's get SERIOUS!
In Sweden, they have off-road rally racing with vehicles that have been modified for this sort of driving.
Now, why don't we have something like this in Wyoming?
No, really, it's time we did.
