I'm sure you've seen the portable signs around Casper, asking you to take a survey about the future of recycling and the current state of trash service in the city and surrounding areas. There are about 100,000 Wyomingites served by Casper's solid waste division. Casper, Natrona County, a large part of Converse County, and Rawlins send over 400 TONS of solid waste per day.

Obviously, the service is a necessity for Wyoming; can you imagine if there were no trash collection, with the amount of garbage we produce today? Holy Moly, every crack, crevice, and valley of Wyoming would be full of trash. Or, everyone would use burning barrels, and the state would be on fire 85% of the time.

There's always grumbling about things like the dump, but the grumblings would be worse without it. That's why they want to hear from you. Let your voice be heard. This is where the City of Casper's survey comes in.

The survey is intended to help the City better understand how you currently use services, the challenges you face, and which options may be most useful moving forward. The information collected will be used to guide future discussions and decisions. The survey only takes a few minutes to complete, and your input is important.

Currently, in Casper, the only way to recycle is to use one of the eight recycling facilities in Casper, one in Bar Nunn, and one in Evansville:

  • Huber Park (3031 East 5th Street)
  • Meals on Wheels (1760 East 12th Street)
  • North Casper Ball Park Parking Lot (1700 E. K St.)
  • Wyoming Blvd. by the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds (1887 SW Wyoming Blvd)
  • Viking Court Cul-de-sac (1200 Viking Court)
  • Mike Sedar Park (781 College Dr.)
  • Paradise Valley Pool (5200 Iris)
  • Balefill (1886 Station Rd)
  • Bar Nunn Depot - Sunset Blvd (near tennis courts)
  • Evansville Depot- Behind Town Hall (3rd St.)

The survey only takes a couple of minutes to take, and is easier than any quiz you've ever had to take in school.

If you've always thought there should be a better recycling program here, then tell them. If you think it's nonsense, tell them that too. To take the survey, I've included it at the link below.
