A 46-year-old Casper woman is behind bars after a Cheyenne-area trooper reportedly found 130 fentanyl pills in her van.

According to a booking sheet, Amber Dawn Baier was stopped near mile marker 1 on southbound Interstate 25 around 9 o'clock last night, Oct. 10, after a trooper saw her change lanes without signaling.

When the trooper contacted Baier, he saw a yellow straw, rubber gloves, several strips of tinfoil, a lighter, and what he believed to be a small purple pipe on the front passenger's seat.

When asked if there was any methamphetamine or fentanyl in her van, Baier reportedly told the trooper that there were approximately 50 M30 fentanyl pills in a purse near the driver's seat.

The trooper deployed his narcotics K-9 on the van and he alerted.

The van was subsequently searched and a total of 130 M30 fentanyl pills were found in the purse and the purple pipe, which ended up being a metal container.

The trooper also located two glass pipes with burned marijuana residue in them.

Baier was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center for failing to utilize her turn signal and felony possession of fentanyl.

As of late Wednesday afternoon, she had yet to be formally charged.

UPDATE:

Baier made her initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Thursday, Oct. 12.

Her bond was set at $2,000 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 19 at 3:00 p.m.
