CENSORED: Things You Can Say in Wyoming, But Not on Twitter

The good news about cancel culture is that even "the left," where it all began, is getting sick of it.

While the backlash has begun, we are not done with cancel culture yet.

Wyoming is one of the Freest states in the nation. We are used to speaking our minds a lot more freely than most other places in the nation.

So, it makes sense that there are things Wyomingites talk about that are okay to say out loud in this state but would be flagged, or would even get someone thrown into "jail", on social media.

1) GUNS

Talk about guns and shooting is not always flagged on social media. But there is, at times, enough backlash that it causes some people to panic. Recently a Hot Springs County school posted photos of 5th and 6th graders completing a gun safety course. Parents and the school were proud. But the school superintendent took the post down under the pressure of the critics. He should just put those photos right back up.

2) HUNTING

Also gun-related, but often posting a photo of a proud hunter with their kill will offend some people and lead to the post being flagged.

3) BEING IN FAVOR OF HARD WORK OVER HANDOUTS

Recently, a young lady posted on LinkedIn that she did not think government handouts helped people. She thinks it hurts them more. She grew up in a poor mountain area and her family was bottom of the barrel on the poverty scale. But, through hard work and perseverance, she climbed out. She said that she believes it is more important to teach people how to work their way up. Her post was classified as HATE SPEECH.

4) EXPRESSING A MORE TRADITIONAL SOCIAL POINT OF VIEW

This can get us into many areas. Basically, if you believe in traditional marriage, traditional conservative religious beliefs, traditional family, and other lifestyle choices, and say out loud that other choices can be dangerous, you might be flagged or canceled.

5) CLIMATE SCIENCE

If you believe that climate change is a natural thing that has been happening for billions of years, and you want to post and discuss the science that proves it, you will be flagged by many social media outlets.

6) NOT BEING INTO THE "GREEN" MOVEMENT

Do you dare post anything about how harmful electric vehicles are to the environment or that "zero emissions" is a LIE! How dare you post proof? That will be flagged. Preferring the reliability of coal, gas, and oil over wind and solar. Again, you will be flagged even if you provide proof. Posting proof that wind and solar are not clean or reliable. Just you hush up about that. SSHHHHH!

There is a lot here, and I can mention even more.

In most cases you can talk about these things, you just have to be very careful about what words you choose.

Social media flagging or blocking is not done by people, but by computer algorithms that look for keywords and phrases.

But some rather annoying people did write those algorithms.
