Like many real estate agents, Summer Robbins posts YouTube videos giving folks from outside our area an idea of what life here is like.

While she had no regrets about moving to Casper, Wyoming, she noted that some people have had second thoughts after they lived there for a while.

There are a lot of good reasons to move to Casper.

Low cost of living.

No state income tax.

Casper is centrally located to so many wonderful things to do in Wyoming.

So, what are the downsides?

WEATHER!

Have to get that one out of the way right up front.

The relentless wind during certain times of the year and the cold and snow are not for everyone.

Wild swings in the weather are hard to deal with.

But most of our spring, summer, and fall are actually really nice. Above average for that matter.

You'll have to get used to wildlife walking across town, and living in your backyard. Love it or hate it, there they are. Watch out when driving.

Some folks don't like the seclusion.

Casper is a nice town, but there is nothing around it.

I MEAN NOTHING.

You love that or you hate it.

Home prices are higher in Casper. It's still less than most of the rest of the nation but it's higher for Wyoming.

Finally, the food in Casper is great. But it's not really diverse. There are only a few types of restaurants with not a lot of variety.

Casper is a wonderful place.

But at the same time, it's not for everyone.
