Wyoming Federal Judges Sentence 16 for Drugs, Guns and Illegal Alien Crimes

Wyoming federal judges recently sentenced 16 defendants -- including five arrested in the Casper area -- for drugs, firearms, assault and illegal alien crimes, according to the Wyoming U.S. Attorney's Office.

U.S. District Court Judge Alan Johnson sentenced Dameon Durante McDowell, 41, of Casper for being a felon in possession of a firearm. McDowell received nine years two months of imprisonment.

The Casper Police Department and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco,Firearms, and Explosives investigated this case.

U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal sentenced Matthew Hunter Heuer, 42, of Mills for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Heuer received three years 10 months of imprisonment. The BATFE investigated this case.

Chief U.S. District Court Judge Scott Skavdahl sentenced Michael Dee Bearclaw, 30, of Lodge Grass, Mont., for stealing a firearm from a federal firearm licensee. Bearclaw was arrested in Casper. He received seven years six months imprisonment. The BATFE investigated this case.

Skavdahl sentenced Raymond Lee Norcutt, Jr., 35, with no fixed address for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Norcutt received 10 years of imprisonment. The BATFE investigated this case.

Skavdahl also sentenced Austin Storm Drew Grauberger, 26, of Cheyenne for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Grauberger received time served to be followed by three years of probation. The BATFE investigated this case.

Skavdahl sentenced Thomas Quinn Surrell, 27, of Riverton for assault resulting in serious bodily injury. He received three years 10 months of imprisonment, and was ordered to pay $24,154.29 in restitution. The U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs investigated this case.

Skavdahl also sentenced Sterling Charles Blindman, 26, of Fort Washakie for assault resulting in serious bodily injury. Blindman received four years three months of imprisonment. The FBI investigated this case.

Skavdahl sentenced Jason Allen Little, 43, of Meeteetse for unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm. Little received two years six months of imprisonment. The BATFE investigated this case.

He sentenced Austin James Kelly, 25, of Arizona for possession of a stolen firearm. Kelly was arrested in Park County. He received time served to be followed by three years of probation. The Wyoming Highway Patrol, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the BATFE investigated this case.

Skavdahl also sentenced Kimberly Dawn Daniels, 46, of Sheridan for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and marijuana. She received 10 years of imprisonment. The DCI investigated this case.

Freudental sentenced Jason August Obermueller, 41 of Jensen, Utah, for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Obermueller received one year two months of imprisonment, and was ordered to pay a $5,500 fine. The BATFE investigated this case.
