Laramie County Passes Resolution Declaring State of Emergency
"It is ironic that ... a year ago today we did a special emergency meeting to put into place COVID protocols for Laramie County," said Commissioner Gunnar Malm. "I really hope this one does not last as long. I don't anticipate it because snow melts."
Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon has also issued an emergency declaration to facilitate a coordinated response in the aftermath of the storm, which dumped a crippling 30-plus inches of wet, heavy snow on southeast Wyoming.
"We don't have any kind of a state fund that can assist communities or anything like that," said Director Lynn Budd. "There's not going to be any money coming to the state from FEMA unless we get a presidential declaration."
