Severe Storms, Large Hail, Heavy Rain Possible In SE Wyoming Friday
The agency posted this statement on its website on Friday morning:
'' Forecasters are still looking at an increased chance for severe thunderstorms to develop over portions of eastern Wyoming this afternoon, moving east into the Nebraska Panhandle late today into this evening. The storms are expected to form up near the Laramie Range in the early to mid afternoon hours, moving east and intensifying as they move east of Interstate 25 by late afternoon.. The main hazards associated with severe storms this afternoon is expected to be in the form of frequent lightning strikes, strong wind gusts to near 65 mph, and large hail to the size of golf balls. While there is not a high risk of tornadoes today, tornadoes will be possible, especially for areas along and east of Interstate 25 and north of Interstate 80. People across eastern Wyoming and western Nebraska are encouraged to remain alert this afternoon and evening to the possibility of severe storms, and be ready to take quick action should a warning be issued for their area.''
