I'm sorry to report.

But here it comes.

I'd advise enjoying this weekend - 02/17/23 - 02/19/23.

Wind over the weekend and warmer temperatures until later Sunday.

It will be windy.

Starting Monday and through next week, snow and temperatures drop to sub-zero in some areas.

Expect it in waves. One snow event after the next.

We might have part of a day, here and there, where the sun will come out and bless for part of a day. But don't get overconfident. More is coming.

Everybody will get some. Some will get a lot more than others.

It starts with snow and wind and the beginning of the week and ends with arctic air.

Then by the next weekend - Friday, 01/25/23 through Sunday, the wind blows it all out.

I'd like to say that we are done after that.

But the week after is a repeat.

We have a lot to go through.

Have a look at the forecast from Don Day or Day Weather, in the video below.

There is good news in all of this.

These fronts are bringing a lot of snow to the entire west.

The drought that has been plaguing us for the past 3 years is coming to an end.

But to bring it to an end we have to go through several months of just nasty winter weather.

This weekend is a good time to get any travel needs out of the way and stock up on what you might need at home, since some of you, especially in outlying areas, will be snowed in for a while.

Snow Crushes Wheatland, Wyoming Airplane Hangars

This row of hangars goes back many years. Some history was lost under a crush of snow.

March 21st, 2021. A record-breaking snowstorm had shut down most of Wyoming and was not yet done. Below is a gallery of photos as cleanup continues.

One of the small airports in Platte County, Wyoming is Phifer Airfield on Antelope Gap Road, east of Wheatland. Platte County has the Wheatland airport, along with one in Torrington and Guernsey. They were all shut down in the storm.
