Welcome To The Cold Wyoming – Updated Forecast
Winter comes slowly creep crawling in. As if it hopes to be quiet enough to not creek the floor boards. SHHHH!
Winter is thinking 'Maybe if I'm slow enough they won't notice.'
But we have been noticing, and this week brings a major drop in temperature.
Tuesday brings wind. But, it's Wyoming, so... yeah.
Wednesday into Thursday a cold front moves in from Canada and brings the chill down to the mid to low twenties during the day and the low teens, and single digits for some, at night.
Expect most of the snow in the northwestern mountains.
North East Wyoming and the Black Hills should watch out for livestock interest.
The rest of the state will get snow and cold in various degrees.
Expect that snow to clear out by Friday, with a hold in the temperatures on the cold side for another day. Then we will step up just a bit into the 30s by the weekend.
Are you thinking that doesn't sound so bad?
It's as if you are that frog in the pot of water. Only this time the water is not getting hotter bold slowly colder, and you are getting used to it.
Okay, actually the frog in the boiling pot of water analogy was always a myth. But you get the idea.
Well, stay used to it. Because for the next 10 days or so the temperatures for the middle of the day stay in the mid 20s to mid 30s, bobbing up and down from one day to the next.
Call it the "new normal" for the rest of this month.
At this time there is only this one snow event in the forecast. -- FOR NOW!
