Here we go again. Another lame study about our state by people who have never been here.

This time it's from the website ALot.com in their Travel A Lot section. They wanted to look at what they believe to be the most miserable town or city in each state.

As usual, with these lame studies, they picked a few criteria and plugged them into a computer model to see what the machine would spit out.

FROM THEIR WEBISTE (typos included): Casper is has the lowest income growth in the country and the crime rate there is about 16% higher than the national average.  That means that if you move there, you'd have a one in 34 chance of becoming a victim of some kind of crime. Wyoming, itself has the third highest work hours per week and the highest suicide rate. Coincidence? We think not. But, if you are plannig a move to Wyoming, may we suggest Cheyenne? It is considered the happiest city in the state.

First, it is not a bad thing to work long hours if you are making good money and love what you do.

They point out low income growth but they don't know why. If they had bothered to ask anyone from Casper they would heard about a recent slowdown in the state, and why it happened. But Casper has above average income and has always been a good place to make money. the median household income is about $60,000, which is above the national average.

NO, you do not have a 1 in 34 chance of becoming a victim of a crime in Casper. They are taking state wide numbers and plugging them into one town's population.

Finally, I'm a bit dyslexic. I rely on people to review my work and catch my strange mistakes. So how bad is it then that I found three glaring typos in the above paragraph?

YES, Wyoming, like any other place, has good places to live and miserable places to live. But you will not know which is which without actually living there for a while.

ENOUGH with these lame studies already.
