When regional weatherman Don Day issues a special weather bulletin on an early Sunday morning, we should all pay attention.

This Sunday, 02/19/23, might be a good day to stock up on what you'll need to ride out yet another winter storm.

Don't expect to be hit by what's coming right away.

Expect it around midweek.

Here comes more snow, wind, and bitter arctic temperatures.

Expect that wind to keep up through Tuesday.

Snow in the mountains Sunday through Tuesday.

Expect snow over all of Montana, Wyoming, and the Dakotas.

Be glad you're not in Nebraska, Colorado or Utah. They are going to get the worst of it.

Bitter arctic temperatures and brutal wind chills will arrive late Tuesday through Friday.

Some overnight temperatures will be in the negatives.

If you have livestock, now is the time to start preparing so they can make it through this.

Travel during this time will reach maximum suckage.

I mean, really bad.

That's part of the reason I'm advising you to stock up now on what you need.

Blowing snow will cover the roads as that arctic air retreats, Friday through Sunday.

I wish I could tell you that the week after will be better.

It's rather early to be sure, but right now it doesn't seem to be shaping up that way.

So take the time to gather what you need and go where you need to go.

Alcova On Ice

One of Wyoming's most beautiful lakes, seen after weeks of winter storms and sub-zero temperatures.

The ice can be heard making strange noises, from snap, crackle, and pop, to glub glub.

The works of people talking in a normal tone of voice carry across the frozen surface.
